Story of New Chances

Serendipity, the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy (or not so happy) or beneficial way.

That is surely how we met years before we knew we would ever have potential at all. We actually first "met" as friends from a love of poetry through an online group of writers and readers of poetry, with both of us, loving the spoken word, just being creative, and appreciating that same creativity in others.

I was personally going through a separation and divorce at that time, and her and others in that community gave me much friendly advice on life matters and getting through it all. Through that period, and at the end of it all, I came out a much stronger and wiser person and she was partly to thank for that process.

I found out a year later that she herself was going through her own ordeals in her marriage. I turned around and did the same thing that her and others had done for me, and gave her a bit of my wisdom regarding my own marriage and also what I had learned regarding my separation and divorce.

We became even better friends during all that and it wasn't until much later that I found out that she actually lived in the same area as me well! Well how about that! :)

Now both on our own now and single, we both begin to feel a pull to finally meet for a first date.

We both new we had a love of dancing so we decided to meet for the first time at a bar that had a DJ with a nice dance floor.

I got there a little late but I spied her near the edge of the dance floor as we said we would meet there. She turned towards me and when her eyes found mine, she gave me the sexiest smile and twinkling eyes you could ever want to receive from a woman. She beckoned me over with a single come hither of her index finger and another one of those entrancing smiles.

I walked over her to with my eyes on nothing but her the whole time. I took her by her hand and said absolutely nothing as I moved in close to her while the music played, just looking at her deeply.

Without asking, I pulled her in closer and kissed her softly on the lips. She returned the kiss with the same passion as my own.

Through the night I found she was an excellent and beautiful dancer. The best partner I had ever had in my arms.

From there we went on more dates and more dates and outings until we were inseparable. She was a breath of fresh air to my soul and I think to hers as well.

I proposed to her at Henderson Castle, an Old Victorian Grand Manor Home, in a suite called the Italian Room I had reserved. She said, yes and the rest is History.... :)
